The Court's approach to judicial reviews of disciplinary proceedings

New procedures regarding disciplinary proceedings of architects have been considered for the first time by the Court of Appeal in Leung Siu Kwong v. An Inquiry Committee Established under s 22 of the Architect's Registration Ordinance, Cap (408). In the case there are numerous statements of both principle and practice which are of interest in the reasons. The appeal arose out of an order which had been made against the appellant architect, Leung following disciplinary proceedings brought against him under part IV of the Architects Registration Ordinance, (Cap 408). The order itself had required Leung's name to be removed from the relevant register for a period of six months although that order was suspended for two years and thus would not operate unless Leung committed another offence.published_or_final_versio

Cellular Phones Influence(s) and Impacts(s) on Social Interactions and Interpersonal Relationships

This paper seeks to explore how cellular phones (cell phones/mobiles) have influenced and impacted social interactions and interpersonal relationships. There have been a number of suggested theories and studies that have been contributed to the rising popularity and commonality of cell phones as to how they are affecting the way individuals are interacting in society. Some of these include, a change in the concept of time and space (Fortunati, 2002), lack of face-to-face interaction (Thompson and Cupples, 2008), the maintenance of relationships, social absences, and social dependency (Reid and Reid, 2004). In addition to these ideas, it has also been suggested that the use of cell phones has had a negative affect on social relationships, grammar, and increased social anxiety (Tully, 2003)

Search for New Particles in 2-Jet Final States in 7 TeV Proton-Proton Collisions with the ATLAS Detector at the LHC

A search for new heavy particles manifested as resonances in two-jet final states is presented. The data were produced in root(s) = 7 TeV proton-proton collisions by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 315 nb^-1 collected by the ATLAS detector. No resonances were observed. Upper limits were set on the product of cross section and signal acceptance for excited-quark (q*) production as a function of q* mass. These exclude at the 95% CL the q* mass interval 0.30 < m(q*) < 1.26 TeV, extending the reach of previous experiments.Comment: 3 page

A Proof of the Factorization Forest Theorem

Setiap industri besar membutuhkan sumber energi listrik yang besar. Melihat pengaruhnya terhadap tegangan abnormal yang tiba pada transformator. Arrester adalah alat proteksi bagi peralatan listrik terhadap tegangan lebih yang disebabkan oleh petir atau surja hubung (switching surge). Alat pelindung (arrester) berfungsi melindungi peralatan tenaga listrik dengan cara membatasi surja (surge) tegangan lebih yang datang dan mengalirkannya ke tanah. Dalam perhitungan dapat diketahui kecuraman muka gelombang 500 kV/?s, kecepatan rambat tegangan surja 300 m/?s (kecepatan gelombang) sesungguhnya 5-10% kurang dari itu karena peredaman tahanan, maka didapat jarak arrester ke trafo di tentukan dengan jarak maksimum yaitu 6 meter.Kata Kunci : Arrester, Surja, Aru
